Meet Mr. Andrew Niewedde

MR. ANDREW NIEWEDDE grew up in Brownstown, Indiana, just outside of Indianapolis. He moved down to Naples for a lifestyle and career change. He is married and owns 3 cats and 2 dogs. His wife is from small town Saint Anthony, Indiana, and met Niewedde through their passions of teaching and coaching. 25 years of classroom teaching in both Catholic and public schools influenced his skills in coaching cross country.

Niewedde received a call from Neumann Principal, Sister Patricia Roche, and that’s when it all started. Niewedde was uncertain about what his passion was. Little did he know that Neumann was about to become his new home. He describes walking into Neumann as, “it just felt right,” and decided to take the opportunity to become one of our newest math teachers!

He encourages you to be the best person you can be and to never lower your standards for yourself. He says to be consistent and determined to make yourself better, and that whether you succeed or make mistakes, always think highly of yourself and never doubt your abilities. Just as it’s always important to problem solve in math, in life it’s always important to persevere through the obstacles that life throws at you.

Niewedde has rediscovered his passion for teaching, and he is thankful for Sister Pat and the opportunity she provided him as a teacher at Neumann. He believes she does an amazing job at selling the school for what it really means, and helping others understand what the teachers and staff want for each and every student.
