Starbucks and Dunkin’ iced caramel macchiatos

This week on The Drink Showdown, I tested out the Iced Caramel Macchiato.

We’ll start with Starbucks. I enjoyed the Starbucks version of this drink as the coffee was not bitter and it was very creamy. The sizes include a Tall 12 oz., a Grande 16 oz., a Venti 20 oz., and a Trenta 30 oz. The Caramel Macchiato was very good and is always a great option as a little pick me up. My favorite way to order this drink is upside down so that it’s a little easier to mix, and with oat milk which I believe makes it more creamy. Overall, I would rate this drink a 10/10 as it was made perfectly and was not bitter.

Dunkin’ offers an Iced Caramel Macchiato as well. To order it you would order a Macchiato and add caramel. Dunkin’ offers a small which is 10 oz., a medium that is 14 oz., and a large 20 oz.. Their Iced Caramel Macchiato was not as good as the Starbucks one, as it was definitely very bitter until the ice watered it down. Typically, their coffee is a little more bitter, so this was expected, but still disappointing. I would rate this drink a 5/10 at first, but after it was watered down and less bitter, I would rate it a 7/10.

In conclusion of the Drink Showdown, Starbucks is, in my opinion, the better option. Although they are a little bit more expensive, the taste is much better and the overall quality and experience is better.
