This year’s homecoming has gotten off to a great start. First the Powder Puff tailgate, then homecoming week, and now the football game. This was a great addition to the 2023 Celtic football season.

I interviewed Sophomore football player Mason Armstrong. When asked how the team as well as himself prepared for the homecoming game, he replied, “Going to practices and getting in the right mindset to do the best you can possibly do.” When asked if the Homecoming game brings the team together more than other games he agreed and went on to say, “Because it’s the last game of the season so we really had to get in the right mindset with others and give it our all.” Armstrong commented on how he felt about the outcome of the game, saying that it was the “best last game” and since they won it was even better. He went on to talk about the pressure, and how no one likes wining a Homecoming game, especially if it’s the last game of the year.

Junior, MJ Turek, went to the game, and shares her opinion:

Do you feel that the homecoming game is different from other games?

Yes because it was the last game of the football season, which was a big deal and there were more people there and activities. There was also the clover clinic for the cheerleaders which was fun to see.

Do you think this game improved your homecoming week experience?

Yes because it was a really fun game especially when we came home with a win. There was also a tailgate with food and free snow cones which was really nice.

Overall St. John Neumann’s Homecoming football game was a great experience for many. Homecoming is a game that for sure everyone wants to watch and win. Throughout the tough and fun to watch game the Celtics pulled through and came home with a win.

Go Celtics!
