Homecoming week is always a time full of excitement and school spirit. This year each class stepped up to add energy and enthusiasm by participating, and took on the challenge of powderpuff cheer.
Freshmen
The freshmen guys did not really practice before the competition since they were new to these activities. However, their hard work and commitment showed in their performance. Their efforts, despite the flaws, brought smiles and laughter to all students and helped us all come together. They truly stepped out of their comfort zones.
Sophomores
The sophomores had one practice, which was during the assembly. While some may say they did not have the perfect routine, it wasn’t so much about that as about shaking it up and participating for the class. It was a valuable lesson, and several students have mentioned plans to get the guys involved next year.
Juniors
The juniors had a great show of participation and hard work during their practices, even holding practices on Saturday mornings outside of school! Even on Friday, the day of the competition, they had Chick-fil-A and went to the school early to get extra practice in. Their outfits were the most unique, with white tutus and masks, and they had creativity with their 2026 sign that they ran through! The juniors played a mashup of old and popular songs during their cheer. As their cheer coach, Nathaly Ramos was interviewed. She said she is very proud of all the hard work and energy that they put into it, and she is proud of how they progressed. At the beginning it was really hard for them to focus. She says that at the end of the day they were able to perform well and ended up winning, so everyone was really happy and “hype” as always.
Seniors
The seniors put in numerous hours of practice perfecting their dances and choreography. They did an amazing job on their performance, and wanted to make it one we will all remember. It was more than just a performance, it was also a celebration of the years they’ve had together and a statement of their school spirit. They had several practices and prepared a whole video of senior memories and pictures of all of them together. This was so unique since they were the only ones who included technology on the screen. They also had a song mashup playlist to dance to. It was a great way to end the Powderpuff Cheer, and it showed how close the class is as a family.
