All throughout HOCO week students were dressed with style. The week featured many different dress down themes, starting with American Dreams on Monday to show our patriotism. Following American Dreams was Dream Team for Tuesday, Sweet Dreams for Wednesday, Disney/ Marvel Dreams for Thursday, and Class Colors to end the fun week on Friday.
American Dreams
To start off the fun week, the school started with a patriotic day. Many students were dressed head to toe in red, white, and blue. Some kids wore American colored skirts and others wore jeans. Many students wore face paint on their cheeks and even paired it with blue and red glasses. It was a great start to the week seeing everybody dressed up.
Dream Team
On Tuesday, the theme was to show off students’ favorite teams and sports. Many students wore their favorite jerseys from different football teams and baseball teams. A few students even brought in their football helmets. Other students even wore Celtic jackets and jerseys to show off their Celtic pride. It was another successful day for HOCO week.
Sweet Dreams
Wednesday’s theme was a much-needed pajama day. Students were dressed in different onesies from movies and some wore animal prints. Many students wore matching pajamas and t-shirts, and some wore their favorite college shirts with sweatpants. Everyone was dressed so cozy and comfortable which was perfect for the half-week mark.
Disney/ Marvel Dreams
Thursday had a fun theme of dressing up as different superheroes and princesses. Many of the staff wore different shirts showing off their superpowers. Sister Pat wore a cool shirt that said, “I’m a principal, what’s your superpower?” Many students wore matching costumes from their favorite shows and movies such as “Monsters Inc” and “Alvin and the Chipmunks.” It was a fan favorite for many of the students and a great way to bring everyone together.
Class Colors
To finish off the exciting week, the students dressed in the colors of their grade. Freshman students wore gold colors, Sophomore students wore green, Junior students wore white, and the Senior students wore black colors. Many people sported colored wigs and class colored face paint. There was even an all-school lunch for students to hang out and eat with the whole school community. It was a great way to end dress down week.
The week was a success! All the students got involved throughout the week. It was great seeing everyone so excited and in amazing costumes building up to the grand finale, the homecoming dance. Everyone looks forward to celebrating next year’s Spirit Week.
