After weeks of planning and preparing for the Freshman Retreat, the day we had all been waiting for was finally here.
The group leaders, activity leaders, core team leaders and Sister Juliana worked hard after school for weeks to make sure that this retreat would be as fun as possible for our freshman class. The freshman retreat is supposed to make the freshman class feel like they have a home here at SJN.
During the retreat, there are many activities that demonstrate the four pillars of our school: home, school, church, and playground. When asking freshmen which is their favorite, most choose the playground pillar.
If you can describe the retreat in three words, what would those three words be?
“Entertaining, exciting, hilarious,” freshman Teresa Scuderi adds. The day was definitely long and eventful. From running around campus during the scavenger hunt to adoration in the chapel, there was never a dull moment. So many memories were made.
What was your favorite part of the freshman retreat?
“The games,” Skye Van de Vouw shares. Everyone got to have fun and there was a game or activity for everyone.
What was your favorite part about being a group leader for the retreat?
Sophomore Fiorella Mainolfi shares, “I liked meeting new people and seeing the groups. It showed teamwork while also being fun.” A lot of teamwork was needed for this to become possible. Everyone needed to work together to make sure this retreat was as seamless as possible.
Overall, everyone had a great time at the freshman retreat. All of the hard work had paid off and everyone was super happy with the turnout of the retreat.
