Q: How do you think cheer camp went? Are you happy with the progress the team made?
Coach Sanderson said that there were some cheerleaders who struggled a bit with working together as a group and getting the hang of the stunts. But overall Coach Sanderson is proud of all the stunt groups!
Q: Do you think that this year’s UCF cheer camp properly prepared the team for the first game and the entirety of Football season?
Sanderson believes that the camp gave the team a solid start to the season, with the groups accomplishing new and difficult stunts. They also has a new chant and cheer to add to their list of performances. She believes that the camp was a good opportunity for the new team members to get used to stunting and working together.
Q: What was your favorite moment about Cheer camp? Why?
Coach Sanderson reported that her favorite moment was when the team got a gold ribbon at their evaluations. Though it was highly unexpected, she was very proud of the girls and the performance they put on.
Q: What are you most proud of in regards to the team?
The thing Sanderson is most proud of about the team is that they don’t care about the recognition they get when they do something well. They support one another and are always there for each other. She is also proud of the chemistry within the team, as well as their desire and motivation to push themselves further.
Q: What do you hope to accomplish before/for the next camp?
Sanderson said that she hopes to move the team up in terms of skill level, especially in their stunts. She said that some groups who have been together for a while are almost ready for that next big step.
Coach Sanderson is very happy with the results the team received from cheer camp, and is looking forward to a great season!
