Student Spotlight: The Barth Sisters’ Commitment to Service

“helping those in need…has made their hearts rejoice”

From Runson, New Jersey all the way to Naples, Florida, the Barth sisters have played an important role when it comes to giving back to the community. Jacie and Jolie Barth have undoubtedly made an impact in their community through their dedication to supporting the homeless, families in poverty, and even local healthcare workers. Prior to the sisters attending Neumann, the girls were highly involved in the works of their school and church, even creating their own personal nonprofit, “Spread JOY”.

Spread JOY aims to fulfill the needs of those struggling, and uplift the people who are going through difficult times in their lives. Support for the nonprofit comes in the form of donations. Along with their own nonprofit, they have also contributed to organizations such as “RAINE” and “Where Angels Play”, two organizations that both benefit children and families in crisis.

The girls remember that at a very young age, their parents began impressing upon them the importance of helping those in need. Doing so has always made their hearts rejoice. Upon moving to Naples, the Barth sisters were granted an abundance of new opportunities to serve, as well as a loving community with which to do so, at Saint John Neumann.

Entering SJN in the spring, they participated in softball which assisted them in making many new friends and even getting more involved within the school community itself. This year, the girls have joined Key Club and Cheerleading which has opened the doors to many service opportunities throughout the community. Although they spend the majority of their time serving out in the community, they spend a lot of time in the classroom giving 110% in their academics. The Barth sisters’ accomplishments don’t go unnoticed, as their hard work and dedication always puts smiles on the faces of those they impact.
